The illegal armed group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) has recently declared that it is willing to meet with church officials, inside or outside of Colombia, in order to come to a humanitarian agreement to free the victims of their kidnapping.

Raul Reyes, member of the FARC, says that the television news station “Noticias Uno” received word that the catholic church of Colombia is willing to meet with the FARC in any place that offers security guarantees however many times is necessary to reach a deal.

He also added that the church would only serve as a facilitator and if any agreement is reached with the government, that meeting should occur in Colombia.
