Opposition Colombian senator Piedad Cordoba will be probed by the Supreme Court of Justice for committing a crime and betraying her homeland, the legislator said.
Cordoba told Caracol radio station that she will be investigated by that justice body, although she did not give details.
The parliamentarian played an important mediation role along with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to achieve a humanitarian exchange of prisoners between the Colombian government and this country' Revolutionary Armed Forces.
After 98 days of labor, President Alvaro Uribe cancelled that action, with which advances in that direction were frustrated, with hopes for the most of Colombians and the international community.
Cordoba also stated that she will do everything possible not to damage relations between Colombia and Venezuela, after the clash caused by the abrupt breaking-off of Bogota authorities.
