On Monday my husband and I were in Washington D.C. to attend the presentation of the Jan Karski Moral Courage Award to Ingrid Bentancourt.

It was so wonderful to see so many people honoring her. I met Ingrid's beautiful daughter and Mr. Betancourt. I met former Colombian President Lopez.

So many people came up to me and introduced themselves and said, "I wanted to meet you." I got to send Marc a message through Caracol Radio Station.

There was a huge wall at the French Embassy with all the names of the 3000 hostages. I was happy to see that Marc, Tom and Keith's names were also on the wall. They were not forgoten.

My husband Mike and I were mentioned at least three times during the speeches. What an honor.

I was happily suprised to see two friends from Northrop Grumman at the ceremony. Northrop Grumman is not forgetting our guys.

I didn't however, see or meet anyone representing the U.S. govt. What a shame! How little the U.S. govt. cares about Marc, Tom, Keith and the other 3000 hostages. Yet, millions of the tax payer's money keeps going there.

However, the French govt. and the Amb. from Colombia honored them. Not just Ingrid but, all of them including our guys. They were mentioned several times.

Yes, kidnappings have been reduced in Colombia but, not the drugs. How much more must these innocent people have to indure?
