Party members from all over the world will commemorate the fourth anniversary of the kidnapping of Ingrid Betancourt in Colombia, announced the Green Oxygen Party.
Besides the Greens, the Mayor of Bogotá and the family of Ingrid Betancourt will be present at activities planned for 22 and 23 February on Bolivar Square in the Colombian capital.
Kidnapped in 2002, Ingrid Betancourt, a presidential candidate, has also French nationality.
Spokespersons for the Green Oxygen Party stated that representatives from all over the world would be present as a gesture of international solidarity for this international day for the life and freedom of those kidnapped in Colombia.
In Colombia, there are at least 3000 persons kidnapped - some for seven years, without any humanitarian agreement being agreed.
Many hostages, among them the former presidential candidate and three US citizens, have been held by FARC, the main guerrillas group in that country.
