In the Colombian press: 

BOGOTA Colombia. --- a mission of European mayors visited the towns of Cali, Popayán and Medellín, in "an international campaign to support the Colombian local democracy". 

The group is composed of the mayors of Hanover (Germany), Herbert Schmalstieg; Eygalayes (France), Jacques Laurent; Stockholm, Margareta Olofsson; The Hague and Putten (Holland), Wim Deetman and Jan van Putten. Two other members of this delegation are the Belgian Armand Burguet, Federation of Belgium Cities and Municipalities and Alexandra Sizoo, Association of Dutch Municipalities. 

At this occasion, 3.000 letters collected in Europe since last July will be transmitted to the families of 3.000 people currently held hostage in Colombia; they were transported in two bags by the French and Belgian delegations.
